Vision and missions:

The Central Library of Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex is one of the most prominent specialized libraries in Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The services of this collection are to support the scientific programs of the complex and the university.

Objectives of the library:
This library aims to provide the highest standards and various services to support the educational and research programs of Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex. The collection of libraries operating in the complex are actually colleagues who are active in discovering knowledge and progressing in education. Library experts strive to achieve the highest quality of service. The main goal of the central library is to help improve the quality of education and research in the hospital through the provision of printed and electronic information resources, innovation to achieve the best methods of service delivery and the expansion of scientific and research library services, and to provide a suitable environment for using these Resources for education and research in the shortest time and in the most useful conditions possible.

• Providing and collecting library materials, including printed, non-printed and electronic, and providing accessibility services for resources and scientific information needed by hospital researchers.
• Performing technical services (listing, organizing and indexing) of all hospital library resources
• Guidance and training of clients in retrieving and using information sources and providing information and reference services to all clients
• Providing membership, trust and account settlement services for members
• Continuous holding of information literacy classes and workshops for faculty members and students of different levels
• Providing consulting services in the field of standardization of hospital libraries in physical fields, devices and equipment
• Preparing content and updating the website of the central library
• Applying new methods of library and information and advanced information technologies in order to optimally use human resources, resources and facilities in order to spread information faster, increase access to it and actively provide services.
• Developing policies and necessary regulations related to library services and activities and preparing short-term, medium-term and long-term plans.
• Collecting and analyzing statistics of library activities and providing necessary reports
• Preparing guides and brochures to inform professors and students about library resources and services
• Continuous training of library staff to update and use modern library and information knowledge

• Training and improving the level of knowledge of librarians and informants of the hospital so that they can respond to the information needs of the hospital users in the best way.

Central Library:

This library was established in 1340 in the building of Imam Ahad, expanded in 1345, and from 1354 it was moved to the building of Waliasr Aj in a comprehensive and academic manner, and following the construction of the Mahdi Clinic building and the transfer of the emergency department to a new location, the library from March of 1390 It has moved to its new location located on the south side of the canteen, in front of Imam Hall. Then, with the completion of Hazrat Mehdi Smart Hospital, the library was moved to the 14th floor of this building. Currently, this library with an area of ​​more than 600 square meters and a study capacity of 82 people with proper lighting and ventilation, equipped with a computer site with 12 devices, a resource search site with 4 devices, Wi-Fi, an open reservoir with more than 8000 books. 2700 theses archives and convenient amenities (buffet, restrooms, etc.) are ready to serve the respected professors, staff and students. According to the available capacities of the library, in the near future this library will become a smart hospital library.
