IKHC was founded in 1946 and a reputed German company took the responsibility of building the hospital being composed of the present Imam Khomeini Hospital, infectious diseases ward and Cancer Institute. For over 70 years, our team at IKHC, consisting of faculty members, post-graduate residents and fellows as well as all staffs have been committed to providing exceptional, personalized patient care. Our internationally acclaimed specialists at IKHC have founded many improvements in the treatment of various complex disorders and are also involved in various innovative basic and clinical research programs. With more than 20 research centers, IKHC is dedicated to have a better impact through outstanding research and we are working together to bring high quality care to more people. Our researchers have partnered with a number of prestigious international institutions and research groups to participate in collaborative research.
More than 500 residents and 185 clinical fellowships participate in different specialty and subspecialty fields at IKHC annually. They are selected from a diverse pool of highly qualified applicants from all over the world.
With more than 900,000 patients receiving outpatient and inpatient services annually, IKHC is playing a critical role in the national health care system. During 2018 about 400 transplant surgeries and near 4000 sophisticated cancer surgeries were performed in IKHC.
